Hawaii is known for the beautiful waters that surround all its islands, including the Big Island of Hawaii. Do to the fact that there is so much ocean surrounding them, there are an abundance of Big Island Ocean Activities. A favorite of visitors to the Big Island is a sailing tour which is usually located on the Kona side. Not only will you get to sail, but you will also get to stop and snorkel as well. Snorkeling on the island will allow you to see many different sizes, shapes, and colors of fish all located in one area where they coexist. If you choose to snorkel, remember that the morning is the best time for this because the wind picks up as the day goes on. Whale watching is another great option for ocean activities. You can take a boat out to the ocean or you can watch from the coastline. December through April is the best bets to see some amazing Humpback Whale action! You can even take a raft to increase excitement! If you want to see more ocean life that is slightly farther beneath the surface, you will want to try scuba diving. This is an excellent adventure that not everyone gets to experience. You will see an amazing variety of ocean life. You can also get a good view from the top on a dolphin excursion or even go down further than snorkeling to submarine level and experience the deep blue! Whichever ocean activity you choose, you will not be disappointed. |
