Luau Word Search

Any word game can be fun and adapted to the luau party theme. Word Search can be especially interesting, depending on how many words and letters you choose to place in boxes.

Just make a grid in a box with six columns and six rows and see how many words you can place inside the boxes within the box in a row. The word �luau� might be right in the middle, and you should use other words all around, and even backwards in the boxes, as well. As long as they are in a string, either vertical, horizontal, or diagonally. Use words like �poi�, �hula�, �conch�, �pineapple�, and so on. You should know just how many luau words are in the puzzle, so that when that number is met, you have a winner. Be sure to have the proper gift item to award to the winner. This prize should also be associated with luaus.

If you are going to have several games with several winners, you might want to use a simple prize so that you can give away quite a few. If the prize is leis, for example, someone can walk away with many leis around his neck, because he has won several games.

Word Search can also be played with a blackboard or dry erase board, which is placed in front of all of the guests, so that they can all see it at one time. They can each write their answers on a private piece of paper, and when they think they have them all, they can yell, �Done!� This way the first one done ends the time for everyone playing. And the one with the most correct words wins.

Word games are always fun, especially for the kids at the luau party. So, when the adults are busy mingling, or they have their own group of friends, have someone keep the children busy with word games.
